Enhanced Initial Training
A unique and advanced combination of ground school, simulation and real-world airframe training.
EuroSafety’s enhanced Initial Training further expands upon ESI’s already comprehensive program by adding the use of the simulator located at the Airbus Helicopter Factory in Grand Prairie, Texas. When combining the actual airframe with a full-motion simulator the level of skills, knowledge and preparation for an unforeseen event is greatly enhanced.
When learning to first operate the helicopter, cockpit familiarization and start procedures can be overwhelming and limiting. By performing the initial starts in the simulator the pilot is introduced to numerous starts and the addition of malfunctions during starts further prepares the pilot for the operation of the helicopter.
Once starts have been mastered the pilot moves to the airframe and now is more comfortable with the aircraft environment and start procedure. The pilot is now ready for an introduction to airframe flight, basic maneuvers and malfunction events such as hydraulic failures.
Once the basics of the helicopter are mastered the pilot moves back into the simulator for basic airframe malfunctions. It is easy to talk about a battery temperature light, analyzation and actions in a classroom environment. However, it is far different to address the malfunction while flying the airframe. Additionally, it is far more difficult to address a malfunction if it’s the first time you have seen it. By exposing the pilot to all the caution panel and airframe malfunctions in the simulator the pilot is better equipped to deal with any unforeseen event.
For the final phase of the enhance initial training program the pilot once again is in the actual airframe and performs full down stuck pedal and engine failure malfunctions.

Prerequisites
Pilots must hold a rotorcraft rating and current medical certificate.
CANCELLATION POLICY
A credit card is required to book a training event. Training cancelled between the confirmation of the training event and 60 days prior to the event will incur just the cost of canceling travel reservations. In the event the cancellation of training is within 60 days of the training event will induce a charge equal to half of the total invoice plus airline ticket cost. Cancellation of enrollment within 30 days of departure of the training event will induce a full charge.
